CS: GO – Recap and Results

3 WEEKS AFTER AN INCREDIBLE CALL OF DUTY: WARZONE TOURNAMENT, THE LGX ARENA WAS BACK STRONGER THAN EVER ON JULY 24TH 2021 FOR A COMPETITION ON ONE OF THE DEMANDING FPS: CSGO. UNDER THE HEATED COMMENTS OF @SSSUICUNE ET @V1SONCASTS, 10 TEAMS COMING FROM ALL PARTS OF EUROPE FOUGHT TO WIN THE 1000-EURO TOTAL CASH PRIZE AS WELL AS RAZER MICE! THE REIGNING CHAMPIONS GAME OF THROWS WERE OF COURSE HERE TO DEFEND THEIR CROWNS. DID THEY MANAGE TO DO IT ? YOU’LL KNOW EVERYTHING AFTER READING THIS DETAILED RECAP!

Competition format

  • 10 teams;
  • BO1 until the semi-finals then B03 (the first team to win 2 maps) in winners and losers finals;
  • Each map is played in 30 rounds and the first team which scores 16 rounds wins the match. If the two teams each scored 15 rounds, overtime begins until one team wins.
  • Single elimination format: no second chance before semi-finals.

Our players have lot of imagination

Every team is welcome to participate in the LGX Arena: promising teams as well as experienced teams, friends here to compete for the first time and have fun as well as players here to win it all ! But our motto has a consequence : ADEPTS or C1 Esports are in the same bracket as Apes Together Strong, Knights Of Night or even Game of Throws. Of course we do not complain and all the craziest team names are welcome in the LGX Arena.

But unfortunately, the adventure of our favorites Knights Of Night and Apes Together Strong ended respectively in the first and second rounds. Despite all their motivation, they suffered very harsh defeats. We wish them the best for the future and to see them again in other tournaments!

All hail the kings ?

After defeating with an astonishing ease Nocturnal Esports (16-1) and Machine Soldiers (16-4), the Luxembourgish Kings Game of Throws managed to reach the final. Against them the French team ADEPTS, which defeated Botturnal E-Sports (16-1) and Aura (16-12). No one can deny that this final was by far the best confrontation of the week. Outplays, comebacks, one-deags: everything was here to make CSGO fans happy.

Despite a terrific start in the first match, the French team quickly got caught up and even outpaced. Sadly, despite all their efforts and three players with more than 20 kills, the Luxembourgish were too far ahead. They lost 13-16. But the second match was another story. Fuelled by the frustration accumulated before, they left absolutely no chance to their opponents. The team led by an on fire yykcoW won 16-8 on nuke.

The last game of the tournament began, the players gave the best of themselves, were taken down but came back hungrier than ever the following round and the inevitable happened: 15-15 in the scoreboard, the overtime began. At the end of 6 another nail biting rounds, Game of Throws, the Luxembourgish Kings managed to keep their crowns and won 19-17. They earned €500 as well as 5 razer mice. But ADEPTS don’t have to say sorry, they fought really hard and earned €350. Team Aura completed the podium and got €150. Congratulations to all the players!

Best plays of the weekend

1.

The best play of the weekend was brought to you by the British team Aura. We are 15 seconds away from the end of the round and mrhui with 3hp has to plant the bomb. Dr.fasszoponszki, full hp is waiting for him. The British player manages to plant the bomb, escapes from a molotov and kills his opponent, giving his team a 16th round and the win. Hats off !

2.

We hope you did not blink when watching this clip ! NeOo and yycoW from team ADEPTS only need 4 bullets to kill the 4 enemies coming at them and, in a blink of an eye, they all die.

3.

Another amazing play from team Aura ! This time, it’s Yoshwa who stands out thanks to 4 quick kills. Unfortunately, he dies before killing the last C1 Esports player standing.

4.

Everyone loves one-deags ! MarqR got our backs with two one-deags aimed right in ADEPTS’ players heads.
